If Venice, with its ramifications, it’s little alleyways, it’s interlaced spaces, could open out all its twists and turns like the convolutions of a cerebral hemisphere, it would occupy in infinite space. The equivalent, perhaps of New York. And perhaps New York, by miniaturizing its circuits, could rediscover the labyrinth charm of Venice.
